First Choice Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1952. At the time we were known as the B&O New Castle Employees Federal Credit Union and were the primary credit union of the Baltimore – Ohio Railroad, the current CSX Corporation.
Through the years we were able to grow our field of membership by taking in SEGs or Select Employee Groups. These were local companies that would extend the credit union services as an advantage or employee benefit of the job.
We have also always offered full family membership. Any family member of an existing member is eligible to join and take full advantage of membership.
In 2000, we expanded our field of membership to open our doors to include anyone who lives, works, volunteers, or attends church or school in Lawrence County. Along with our new charter came our new name and new location. We are now headquartered at 2209 West State Street in New Castle, PA 16101, about 1 mile from Wal-Mart off of the 422 State Street Exit. We have also been fortunate enough to add two new offices to better serve all of Lawrence County.
We are a progressively managed credit union with our members’ interests at heart. We believe that the slogan, “People helping people” is more than lip service. We strive to meet our members’ needs daily.
We constantly monitor our local markets to make sure we are competitive in both savings and loan rates. It is our desire to become your primary financial institution.

We were the first credit union in Lawrence County to be granted an extension to our charter. The credit union offers convenient and confidential financial services to give members an advantage in their financial matters.
